Some artists create to inspire. Others create to provoke. For impact artist Ekaterina Sky, art has become a way to give a voice to the living world itself. Through paintings that explore the profound relationship between humanity and nature, her work invites people to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the ecosystems that quietly sustain every life on Earth. It is this philosophy that brings her work and our mission of Art For Soil – Save Soil together.

When Art Becomes a Voice for the Earth
The centerpiece of this collaboration is Forests of the Worlda painting that brings together some of Earth’s most important forest ecosystems into a single living landscape. The Amazon, the Congo Basin, the California Redwoods, and the rainforests of Indonesia are connected through invisible “sky rivers” – the atmospheric pathways that transport moisture across continents and help regulate our planet’s climate.

Every Forest Begins Beneath Our Feet
When we think about forests, we often look upward to towering trees, lush canopies and wildlife.
Yet every forest begins somewhere much quieter.
It begins in the soil.
Healthy soil nourishes roots, stores water, captures carbon, and creates the conditions that allow forests to thrive. In return, forests protect that soil, preventing erosion and sustaining the water cycle that supports life far beyond the forest itself. It is a relationship that is often overlooked, but one that lies at the heart of both Save Soil and Ekaterina’s artistic vision.

A Journey Shaped by Compassion
Ekaterina’s journey into impact art began long before international exhibitions. As a child immigrant who could not yet speak the local language, she discovered that art could communicate where words could not. Over time, that realization evolved into a lifelong mission – using creativity to advocate for forests, wildlife, and the ecosystems that sustain us all.

One turning point came during her visit to Borneo, where she witnessed firsthand the effects of deforestation. Rather than seeing the issue as a simple conflict between people and nature, she discovered a more complex reality local communities often relied on forest clearing simply to survive.

Protecting nature also means supporting the people who depend upon it

Art That Inspires Action
At Art For Soil, we believe creativity has the power to transform awareness into action.
Whether through painting, photography, sculpture, music, or storytelling, art helps people connect emotionally with subjects that statistics alone often cannot. Ekaterina’s work reminds us that healthy forests, clean water, stable climates, and fertile soils are not separate challenges, they are all part of one living system. By celebrating artists whose work deepens our relationship with the Earth, Art For Soil hopes to inspire a growing global community where creativity becomes a catalyst for regeneration.
