Save Soil Foundation (SSF) welcomes Sakshyam Banjade as its Country Head for Nepal. A founder, technology builder, and youth leader, Sakshyam brings an entrepreneurial perspective and a commitment to connecting innovation with environmental stewardship. In his role, Sakshyam will help advance SSF’s mission in Nepal, bringing people together around the protection of soil and its importance to food, livelihoods, and future generations.

Building Technology with Purpose
Sakshyam’s work in building technology ventures reflects an interest in turning complex challenges into practical solutions. His experience brings together product development, entrepreneurial leadership, and a focus on understanding the people a technology is intended to serve.
That approach led him to found SeedSure, an early-stage AI-powered platform being developed to help farmers make more informed decisions. By bringing together weather data, soil conditions, and local environmental factors, SeedSure aims to offer practical guidance on what to plant, when to plant, and what best suits a farmer’s land.
SeedSure was selected among the top six of more than fifty startups to present at the Nepal launch of UNDP’s Regional AI Report, The Next Great Divergence. It was also selected as a FutureFront AI Innovator by the U.S. Embassy Nepal. These milestones have encouraged Sakshyam to continue exploring how technology can support agriculture while respecting farmers’ existing knowledge.

Sakshyam Banjade – SSF Head, Nepal

“Scientists estimate that restoring the Earth’s forests would require hundreds of billions of new trees, roughly 165 trees per person. When we break down a global challenge into individual action, restoring our planet suddenly feels possible. One tree at a time, together, we can grow a forest.”

Connecting Innovation and Soil Health
Sakshyam’s involvement in Soil Index extends his interest in using technology to make soil health more visible and understandable. The initiative is being developed to bring together country profiles, maps, and global comparisons, helping people explore soil-health information and its limitations. His work across SeedSure and Soil Index connects two complementary goals: helping people make better decisions and drawing attention to the soil on which those decisions ultimately depend.
For Sakshyam, innovation and soil conservation belong in the same conversation. Technology can support agricultural progress, but healthy soil remains fundamental to the future that progress is meant to serve.

Leadership Rooted in Collaboration

As SSF Nepal Country Head, Sakshyam aims to engage young people, strengthen relationships with farmers and researchers, and encourage collaboration with institutions and communities. His approach recognizes that meaningful leadership begins with listening. Farmers bring generations of experience, researchers contribute evidence, and communities understand local priorities. Bringing these perspectives together will be central to translating awareness into sustained action.

Sakshyam also sees an important role for Nepal’s young people—as advocates, innovators, volunteers, and future leaders who can help make soil protection a shared responsibility. SSF looks forward to working with Sakshyam to strengthen its mission in Nepal and build connections between technology, community leadership, and care for the land.

Welcome to the team, Sakshyam.
Together, we look forward to advancing a healthier future from the ground up.
